Crossing over the Cuyahoga on the Veterans Memorial Bridge and into Cleveland from the west. The William G. Mather Steamship and museum docked in Cuyahoga County's (Cleveland, Ohio) Harbor. (Note: The word nuclear is pronounced "new-clear", not "nuke-u-lar") Local wisdom from Tom Wible born and raised 5 minutes from the plant... Originally, two reactors were planned for Perry Nuclear. As the photo illustrates, two cooling towers were constructed, but only one (1) has ever cooled water. Construction of the second reactor was over-budget and consequently was never completed. During this photo shoot, the entire plant was idled for replacement of the fuel rods. No steam can been seen rising from the normally active tower. The Solar Array at Lake Farmpark. This impressive interpretative display produces 30,000 KW hours of electricity per year. That's enough to power between 3-6 homes. According to the on-site signage: "Every day, more solar energy falls on the U.S. than we use in an entire year."
